Our Faith

The Bible - We believe in a plenary, verbal inspiration of the Bible, consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, infallible, inspired (God-breathed) Word, and is the final authority in the matters of faith and practice. We believe the preserved Word that is best for use today is the King James Version Bible, and that all other language translations should be based on the Textus Receptus (TR). (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21)

The Godhead - We believe in a triune Godhead, which exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the existence by three persons, yet they are all One. These are co-eternal in being, co-equal in power, glory, attributes, and natures. (Genesis 1:1-2, 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 6:3, Matthew 28:19)

The Person and Work of God, the Father - We believe that God, the Father, is perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless in power; He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; He hears and answers prayer, and He saves from eternal punishment in Hell – the Lake of Fire – all who come to Him through the Lord Jesus Christ. (Psalm 22:3; John 17:11; Psalm 147:5; I John 3:20; Matthew 19:26; John 3:16; Matthew 6:26, 28-30; Psalm 65:2; Hebrews 11:6; Romans 5:8; I Timothy 2:5; John 14:6)

The Person and Work of Jesus Christ - We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the eternal and only begotten Son of God, being conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, became man, without ceasing to be God. He became fully human as a man, yet remained full deity because He is God. This was done for the purpose of revealing the righteousness of God and to redeem mankind of his sinfulness. (Philippians 2:5-8; John 1:1, 14:9; Isaiah 7:14; I John 4:14)

We believe the redemption of mankind was accomplished through His literal death on the cross as a representative and substitution for all man. Our justification is made sure by His literal physical and bodily resurrection from the dead. (I Corinthians 15:1-4)

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. There, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Mediator and Advocate. (Hebrews 12:2; I Timothy 2:5; I John 2:1; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25)

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit - We believe the Holy Spirit of God is the third part of the Trinity. This is simply the Biblical expression of the order of the Trinity and does not mean He is in any way inferior in deity. We believe the Holy Spirit acts as our Comforter and Intercessor. (Matthew 28:19-20; II Corinthians 13:14; John 14:26; Romans 8:26-27)

We believe the indwelling of the Holy Spirit takes place at the point of Salvation. As believers we are to be filled with the Spirit continually as we yield to God and serve Him with our lives. (I Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 5:18)

The Salvation of Man - We believe that all men are sinners and are in need of the saving work that was done by Jesus Christ on the cross. Salvation is a free gift from God to all who will believe and receive it. Salvation is by grace alone, plus nothing and minus nothing. The conditions by which man receives salvation is repentance and faith. (Romans 3:10, 23; 6:23; 10:10-13; John 1:12; John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16)

The Church - We believe the Church is the body and bride of Christ. A spiritual organism made up of born-again, baptized believers. (Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 5:25-29; Acts 2:47; I Corinthians 12:13)

We believe in a local New Testament, independent, autonomous church that is self-governed under the control of Jesus Christ, who purchased the church with his own blood. (Acts 20:28)

We believe the church has been commissioned to spread the Gospel throughout the world. (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15) We believe the church has two ordinances: the Lord’s Supper and Baptism. We believe the church has two offices: Pastor and Deacon. (Philippians 1:1; I Timothy 3)

The Devil - We believe Satan is a person or being, who is the author of sin, and the direct cause of the fall of man; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; and that he will be eternally punished along with the fallen angels in the Lake of Fire. (Genesis 3:1; Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:2,10)

The End Times and Eternity - We believe in a personal, imminent, pretribulational, premillennial coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones. We believe the Lord will subsequently return to the earth with His saints, at the end of the tribulation period, to establish His millennial kingdom. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:11-20:6)

We believe in an everlasting conscious abode of the saved in a literal heaven (Revelation 21-22)

We believe in an everlasting conscious punishment of the lost in a literal hell. (Revelation 19:11-15)

The Separation of Believers - We believe that all Christians should live in a manner that does not bring reproach upon the Lord’s name, and that separation from religious apostasy and sinful practices is commanded by God. (Romans 12:1-2; II Corinthians 6:17; Romans 16:17; I John 2:15-17)

The Creation - We believe God created the universe in six, literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the Day-Age theory, and Theistic evolution as unscriptural theories of the origin of the universe, the earth, and mankind. (Genesis 1-2; Exodus 20:11)

The Marriage Relationship - We believe marriage is the joining together of one man and one woman, and that God intends for that marriage to last a lifetime. We believe that God views adultery, homosexuality, and any other sexual acts outside of the bond of marriage as sinful perversions. (Genesis 2:24; Romans 7:2; I Corinthians 7:10; Ephesians 5:22-23)

The Human Life - We believe life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. We believe that abortion is the unjustified, un-excused taking of an unborn life and it is murder and sinful. (Job 3:16; Psalms 51:5, 139:14-16; Isaiah 44:24; Jeremiah 1:5, Luke 1:44)
